Many vehicle manufacturers use an electrically controlled original valve, which all too often is defective or leaking straight from the factory. The original valves already leak at higher boost pressure straight from the factory, which causes a loss of power that is even more pronounced on tuned vehicles because of the higher boost pressure. Installing the GFB DV+ diverter valve closes this “hole” in the charge-air system, so the turbocharger has to work less to deliver the requested boost pressure. In addition, the DV+ has a mechanism that promotes better response: during a load change, just enough pressure remains in the charge-air system so that, when you get back on the throttle, pressure does not first have to be built up again. This valve can only be used in combination with the original solenoid valve unit, i.e. the original electrical control of the valve is retained. Other manufacturers convert the electrical control back to a pneumatic one, which has the disadvantage of a slower valve reaction time. This is not the case with the GFB DV+!
