Approval / TÜV This kit is supplied with a parts certificate for approval of the modification under StVZO § 19 para. 3 and can therefore be registered without any problems. The combination with the Milltek ECE exhaust system “MSTY112-113” (E24*59R02/01/B*0015*00) has been tested, and the exhaust can optionally be fitted in place of the factory exhaust system. Compatibility with other add-on parts has not been tested and must be discussed beforehand with an expert / test engineer - unfortunately we cannot provide any information on this. Oil-free air filters: Pipercross air filters are not oiled and do not need to be oiled either. The advantage is that no oil vapours contaminate or damage the car’s mass air flow sensor. A contaminated or faulty mass air flow sensor would return incorrect values, resulting in a noticeable loss of engine power. Increased air flow: compared with standard paper air filters, Pipercross air filters offer 30%-40% more air flow. This is particularly noticeable in powerful cars, when the engine needs to be supplied with sufficient oxygen. Approval: replacing the original paper air filter with a Pipercross air filter is usually not only quick and easy, but also legal. Pipercross air filters may be fitted in the car and require no registration, inspection or special approval. Maintenance: Pipercross air filters consist of a special multi-layer filter foam with different pore sizes (from coarse to fine). This three-layer foam is very easy to clean. The air filter no longer has to be thrown away, which saves waste and is sustainable. Pipercross filters leave no oil residue and return to 100% of their original performance after cleaning. Cleaning is done quickly and easily. Cleaning: one of the core advantages of Pipercross air filters is that, with the same level of soiling, they still offer higher air flow than a cotton or paper filter. Dirt is trapped by the unique foam surface, so the fresh intake air can continue to flow through. We recommend cleaning after 15,000 - 20,000km at the latest, or once a year. The best time to clean the air filter is around the end of May/June, after the pollen season, as by then the air filter is at its most heavily loaded. We offer a special cleaning agent for cleaning. Under no circumstances may aggressive cleaners such as white spirit, cleaning benzine, brake cleaner etc. be used, as they can damage the material.
