This new development from HF-Series is compatible with almost all intake systems for VAG 1.8 - 2.0 Euro 6 TSI engines. Whether original or, for example, the HF-Series carbon intake. It is a very important component between the turbocharger and the intake system, because only when the entire path up to the turbocharger is optimised can the full potential of turbocharger and engine be made available. The new intake spigot was developed to allow maximum throughput and optimum flow. As the original component is restrictive and also has edges that impede the flow, it is not designed for performance but even creates turbulence and back pressure. By contrast, our upgrade intake spigot was enlarged to the maximum diameter of 70mm following a 3D scan. As a result, replacing the original part with our intake spigot increased the air flow from 219 cfm to a hefty 319.5 cfm, an improvement of over 50%. Thanks to state-of-the-art flow animations and other computer simulations, this aluminium performance part with CNC flange and handmade outlets was created. This is the only way the air can reach the turbocharger with an optimum, even flow. The results are higher maximum power and improved response. The reduced wall thickness of just 2 mm minimises turbulence and resistance inside the inlet. This results in a more even and efficient air supply to the engine, which optimises combustion and thus increases power. Excellent thermal efficiency - Aluminium is characterised by excellent thermal conductivity, which results in improved heat management. Our inlets allow faster heat dissipation, keeping the intake air cooler and increasing the engine’s efficiency. The thinner wall further supports this effect, as the heat is released to the surroundings more quickly. Weight reduction for improved performance. Reduced weight - Another advantage of our aluminium inlets is the reduced weight. With a wall thickness of just 2 mm, at 227 grams they are significantly lighter than their 5 mm thick cast counterparts. This lower weight contributes to a reduction in the vehicle’s overall mass, which improves the vehicle’s handling and acceleration.
