EGO-X exhaust system 3.5" BMW 235i/240i F22/F23 (with ECE*) (HGBXAGABMW01-2-1M)

This EGO-X exhaust system for the BMW F22/F23 235i/240i is handmade using TIG welding and consists of absorption silencers without chambers. The pipe diameter is 3.5" (89mm).

Technical details:

• - Pipe diameter: 3.5" (89mm) - Pipe material: stainless steel - Absorption silencer: handmade in-house - cat-back - TIG-welded. Important notes: Note 1: on the 2.35i, part of the OEM exhaust system has to be carried over and cut off. (this is the approx. 50cm long section of the exhaust system that contains the oval flex pipe) The background is as follows: the oval OEM pipe has a connection diameter of 83mm at the point where our adapter is attached. Production from the downpipe in 89mm is not possible because of the position of the OEM downpipe on the 35i models, and would mean that this section has to be made in 76mm. This would mean a cross-section 8mm smaller than standard and therefore a bottleneck. As we always design our exhaust systems for the maximum possible performance gain, this is the only option. Note 2: on vehicles with OPF, the petrol particulate filter is located under the vehicle and is integrated into the OEM exhaust system. Here the OEM exhaust system must first be cut through behind the OPF; the EGO-X exhaust system is then fitted with the adapter pipe at the cut point using a clamp. Caution: on some production runs of the OEM BMW exhaust systems, the pipes were drawn completely oval, so that fitting with a clamp is not possible at any point. In this case the adapter pipe has to be welded in. (Time required: approx. 15-20min) Scope of delivery: - Cat-back exhaust system - Cable material for connecting to the vehicle electronics - Vacuum hose for connecting the Bull-X Tronic to the exhaust valve - Tailpipes (optionally available) - Fitting instructions - Fitting kit - Bull-X Tronic control unit (if the ECE version is selected). With ECE operating licence*: *Only applies to the following selection in the “Operating mode” field: Bull-X Tronic control unit (with ECE operating licence). This valved exhaust system has ECE approval, so it can be used on the road without being entered in your vehicle documents. Caution: exhaust systems with ECE are not affected by the “valve ban” and may continue to be used completely legally on the road. While driving you can decide whether you want to drive in comfort or sport mode. If your vehicle has a drive profile selection, it can be controlled via that. For vehicles without drive profile selection, control can be via a supplied button. The button’s LED lighting tells you whether the valve is currently open (light off) or closed (light on). The control unit automatically closes the valve in all ranges required by the ECE regulation, regardless of which mode you are driving in. In general, the Bull-X Tronic offers two control options: - Sport (Dynamic, Race): within the approved limits of the ECE regulation, the valve is always open. When stationary, the valve is always closed. - Comfort mode: the valve is always closed, but opens while driving within the approved limits of the ECE regulation from 75% throttle opening. Without ECE operating licence*: *Applies to the following 3 options in the “Operating mode” field: exhaust valve control via switch / exhaust valve control via remote control / Bull-X Tronic “Race” CAN bus control unit. If the vehicle has a drive profile selection (sport button), control via this is also possible. For vehicles without drive profile selection, control can be via a supplied button. The button’s LED lighting tells you whether the valve is currently open (light off) or closed (light on). If you have also bought the Bull-X Tronic control unit, it is still possible to open the valve when stationary, but while driving the control unit regulates the exhaust valve according to ECE guidelines. In general, the Bull-X Tronic offers two control options: - Sport (Dynamic, Race) - Comfort mode (valve opens from 75% throttle opening). The “without ECE operating licence” version is not approved for use on public roads - For racing purposes only! CAUTION! The exhaust system offered is not approved under the German road traffic licensing regulations (StVZO)! With the ECE Bull-X Tronic control and the EC catalytic converter you may legally drive your vehicle on public roads. The use of all other controls and/or catalytic converters is intended for racing purposes only. If, despite our notice, you fit an exhaust system WITHOUT ECE approval, you are committing a criminal offence. Possible consequences include: invalidation of the operating licence, decommissioning of the vehicle, a complaint for tax evasion, and possible investigations by the environmental authority.
