The downpipe plays a decisive role in pulling power and performance. It is the “link” between the turbocharger and the exhaust system. The larger the pipe diameter and the higher the pipe’s flow capacity, the more easily the turbocharger can expel the exhaust gases through the exhaust system. This has a positive effect on torque, power and the sound! (especially in combination with a modified exhaust system) The lambda sensor connection is of course still present despite the removal of the cat. Only with the EC catalytic converter may you legally drive your vehicle on public roads. The use of all other catalytic converters is intended for racing purposes only. If, despite our notice, you fit a downpipe with a catalytic converter WITHOUT EC approval, you are committing a criminal offence. Possible consequences include: invalidation of the operating licence, decommissioning of the vehicle, a complaint for tax evasion, and possible investigations by the environmental authority.
