A high-performance brake system is one of the most important factors in motorsport - especially on vehicles such as the Audi R8 4.2, Audi RS4 B7, Audi RS5 B9 or Audi RS6 C5, which combine high vehicle weights with enormous power reserves. The MOVIT upgrade brake system was developed precisely for these demands and offers an uncompromising combination of braking performance, thermal stability and fade resistance. Optimised brake disc technology For this upgrade kit, MOVIT has increased the diameter and thickness of the brake discs to 370 x 35 mm (RS4 B9 375x36). This significantly increases heat capacity and keeps braking performance consistent even under repeated high loads. Flow-optimised cross-drilling is also used. Every pre-cast hole is re-drilled and countersunk in order to: allow better dissipation of gases and heat reduce material stresses ensure even wear The specially developed DDE ventilation system (Double Directional Evolvent) increases the effective cooling surface of the brake disc by up to 80 % compared with conventional designs. This significantly reduces temperature peaks, minimises wear and ensures consistently high braking performance.
