A diverter valve kit is basically a back-pressure bypass that ensures the boost pressure is not choked off when the throttle closes. The advantage of ours: the back pressure is diverted directly upstream of the throttle. Since the valve in our system sits after the intercooler, only cool air is recirculated. On many engines, the factory diverter valve is located before the intercooler, so only hot, uncooled air is recirculated. This high-performance silicone hose kit from Silicone Factory Hoses (not a cheap copy) is the perfect solution for avoiding power losses caused by creeping damage to the standard diverter valve (bypass valve). The standard diaphragm valve is fitted in a very hot area of the engine bay and, over time, constant exposure to heat damages it so badly that it starts to leak. A leaking valve leads to poorer response and power losses, which in most cases are not noticed immediately because the damage develops gradually rather than suddenly. As a result, you get used to the deteriorating response and the loss of power. With the Silicone Factory Hoses diverter valve hose kit, the valve can be relocated to cooler areas, which in turn has the advantage that it no longer suffers heat-related damage and cooler air is returned to the intake system. The cooler the air, the higher the density, and the higher the density, the better the cylinder filling, which also results in higher power. This diverter valve hose kit can be used both with the standard valve and with other diverter valves with a piston mechanism, which respond much better than the standard diaphragm valve. Both a closed and an open valve (pop-off, blow-off) can be used, the latter producing the typical hissing sound on load changes.
