A diverter valve kit is basically a back-pressure bypass that ensures the boost pressure is not choked off when the throttle closes. Details: - Incl. Certificate (does not require registration) - Connections: 1x65mm / 1x70mm Caution: only fits intercooler connections with an outer diameter of 70mm (HF-Series V3 intercooler or Wagner intercooler). Note: before ordering, please check whether the windscreen washer reservoir is on the driver’s side (filler neck next to the air filter box) or on the passenger side (in front of the coolant reservoir). If the reservoir is fitted on the passenger side, select the additional bracket in the vehicle-specific fitting kit. The additional bracket, which you can optionally buy with it, applies to the Golf 7R/Clubsport and all Cupra Euro 6 models with manual gearbox! The advantage of ours: the back pressure is diverted directly upstream of the throttle. Since the valve in our system sits after the intercooler, only cool air is recirculated. On many engines, the factory diverter valve is located before the intercooler, so only hot, uncooled air is recirculated. The original valve is fitted directly in the turbocharger. Its purpose is to return excess boost pressure to the intake system during load changes to counteract turbocharger damage, since the turbocharger is slowed down by the closing throttle and the resulting back pressure. Over time, constant exposure to heat usually impairs it so much that it starts to leak. A leaking valve leads to poorer response and power losses, which are normally not noticed immediately because the damage develops gradually rather than suddenly. As a result, you unconsciously get used to the deteriorating response and the loss of power. In addition, hot charge air is constantly recirculated. With this conversion kit, the valve can be relocated to a cooler area to obtain the following advantages: 1. Improved response, as the pressure is diverted immediately upstream of the throttle. 2. Instead of hot, uncooled charge air, only cool air is returned to the system. As a result, the turbocharger has to deliver less air. 3. Thanks to the relocation, the valve is no longer exposed to the high thermal load of being mounted in the turbocharger. 4. The cooler the intake air, the higher the density, and the higher the density, the better the cylinder filling. This also makes it possible to achieve higher power in the lower rev range.
