This upgrade intercooler for the Ford Mustang VI 2.3 litre EcoBoost is a highlight of the HF-Series range. The high-quality BNP core has excellent cooling properties to deliver top performance even in poor conditions while being very robust. It is highly resistant and does not heat up as much itself as comparable cores from other manufacturers. At the same time, the entire system is also designed for the best possible flow. This means that the pressure loss is minimal and the entire charge-air path has been developed for optimum flow using CAD flow analyses. This also includes the end tanks, which are made of high-strength cast aluminium. The advantages of this product are: - significantly cooler charge air, which improves the engine’s combustion - earlier response - improved flow. This product is therefore interesting for both standard power and motorsport, as much higher outputs are also possible. Each individual intercooler was built on the respective vehicle, calculated in flow simulations and tested on our in-house dyno. Technical details Core type: B’N’P Length: 540mm (core) Height: 275mm (front step of the core); 145mm (rear step of the core) Depth: 68mm (front step of the core); 92mm (rear step of the core) Core volume without end tanks: 17.3016 cm³ Incl. parts certificate for easy registration under §19.3 Direct comparison: Standard HF-Series Size: 525x145x80mm 540x275/145 (rear step)x68mm/92mm (rear step) Volume: 6.1 cm³ 17.3016 cm³ Frontal area 761cm² 1485cm² What exactly does an upgrade intercooler do for you? To express the exact additional power of an intercooler in figures, many unknown factors have to be taken into account, such as: power variation from the factory, other hardware modifications and the software used for the measurement. This differs from vehicle to vehicle. As a rule of thumb, on tuned engines you can expect up to 5% - 10%. But what is at least as important: whether your engine is already optimised or is to remain standard in terms of software, you prevent a loss of power, especially at high outside temperatures, or even reaching the temperature protection stored in many ECUs, and can therefore always count on your engine’s full power. Recommendation: use our HF-Series intercoolers as a combination of hardware & software optimisation. Reducing the back pressure (relieving the turbocharger) and cooling the charge air (more oxygen in the combustion chamber + thermal relief) results in a performance tune that makes efficient use of the potential of any turbocharged engine. When you look into hardware or software tuning of your vehicle, you must not ignore the factor “boost pressure loss” either. If you increase your vehicle’s power with chip tuning, the boost pressure is also raised in 99% of cases. With the standard intercooler, the boost pressure loss rises exponentially. This means that the turbocharger has to work even harder, so the thermal load on the turbocharger rises and its service life falls, or it wears faster due to high speeds. With our HF-Series intercoolers we strike the perfect balance between cooling effect and boost pressure loss. (The development and sales partner for this product is PS-Motorsport)
