The CUPRA Formentor VZ brings the two-litre turbo with 310 or 333 hp into a crossover format with all-wheel drive – sporting in intent, but conceived as an everyday car. That is exactly why the OEM acoustics are deliberately restrained. The GRAIL valved exhaust system gives the four-cylinder a gutsy, low-set tone and makes the overrun audible, without letting the Formentor drone on the motorway.
