The Mercedes-AMG G63 W465 carries the boxy shape of the G-Class into the current generation and retains the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. From the factory the eight-cylinder works behind a heavily damped system that lets little of the engine's character out. The GRAIL valved exhaust system frees up the bassy V8 foundation again and sharpens the overrun, while the valve control keeps the car quiet in residential areas.

This exhaust system holds an ECE type approval and therefore requires no individual approval* for road use.
