The Shelby GT500 on the S550 platform carries a 5.2-litre eight-cylinder with a supercharger and a flat-plane crankshaft – a combination that produces a different sound character from the usual five-litre engines of the series. The OEM system largely levels out that difference. The GRAIL valved exhaust system works it out again and lets supercharger whine and eight-cylinder foundation stand side by side instead of blending the two.

This exhaust system holds an ECE type approval and therefore requires no individual approval* for road use.
