The M135i of the F2x series is one of the last compact three- and five-door cars with a longitudinally mounted straight-six turbo and rear-wheel drive – a combination no longer available in this class. Acoustically the OEM system holds the six-cylinder well back. The GRAIL valved exhaust system resolves that restraint and gives the engine the rich, even definition that makes a straight-six what it is.
