BULL-X Exhausts produces downpipes at the highest level. The HG-Motorsport downpipe for the VW Golf 7 GTI Performance and the TCR with OPF is a 100% direct replacement for the factory part. Perfect fit and high-quality materials make this item a top product in our range. By optimising the diameter, pipe routing and/or catalytic converter, the load on the turbocharger can be greatly reduced. Lower back pressure and reduced thermal load produce a clear gain in torque and power, an earlier response, and at the same time extended durability.

Technical details:

  • fully TIG-welded
  • ECE R103 tested, does not require registration
  • Ø 76mm front pipe + OPF
  • 200cpsi tuning HJS sports catalytic converter
  • 200cpsi tuning ceramic OPF
  • Plug & play
  • Performance optimisation
  • Reduced thermal load on the turbocharger
  • Sporty sound Technical details Race version:
  • fully TIG-welded
  • No approval, for racing purposes only
  • Ø 76mm front pipe
  • Optionally without / with 100-cell or 200-cell tuning sports catalytic converter
  • Without OPF
  • Plug & play
  • Performance optimisation
  • Reduced thermal load on the turbocharger
  • Sporty sound The advantages at a glance: - Plug & play solution - perfect fit, simply swaps for the original component - high-quality materials - Made in Germany - genuine quality from our own production - flow-optimised and performance-enhancing - improved durability and response - optimum evacuation of exhaust gases - no disruptive edges at the transitions - designed and tested on the computer and on the dyno - No more heat build-up at the turbocharger, and therefore less thermal load on the turbo - Better response and a measurable slight power increase. Caution: important note on purchasing this downpipe. On approx. 2 out of 10 vehicles, an error message from the differential pressure sensors may occur despite the ECE version. We only recommend this downpipe to customers who want to have a software adaptation carried out or who wish to use our OBD OPF error deleter. Because our cast parts are so well designed, it is possible that, despite the ECE cat and OPF, the threshold value of the pressure sensors is not reached with our downpipe. (Which clearly proves how much better our downpipe is.) If you do not want to use a software optimisation from us (available with registration) or our OBD deleter item no. xxxxx, we recommend ordering the HJS downpipe (item number: front-wheel drive HG90821160 / all-wheel drive HG90821135), as its design and higher back pressure allow it to be driven without error messages. If a catalytic converter variant without ECE approval is selected, the following applies to this item: This item is not approved for use on public roads - For racing purposes only! CAUTION! All catalytic converters/cat replacement pipes offered, except the EC-tested catalytic converter from HJS in combination with an OPF, are not approved under the road traffic regulations! Only with the EC catalytic converter may you legally drive your vehicle on public roads. The use of all other catalytic converters is intended for racing purposes only. If, despite our notice, you fit a downpipe with a catalytic converter WITHOUT EC approval, you are committing a criminal offence. Possible consequences include: invalidation of the operating licence, decommissioning of the vehicle, a complaint for tax evasion and possible investigations by the environmental authority. Catalytic converter information If you select a downpipe without a cat or with a 100/200-cell cat, the control unit may log an error message from the post-cat lambda sensor; this does not restrict driving, as the first lambda sensor is still there for engine management. The post-cat sensor is only responsible for monitoring the cat’s effectiveness. This can be programmed out by a chip tuner by adapting the software. Most vehicles up to the Euro 3 emissions standard have no post-cat oxygen sensor, and installation is possible without further adaptation and without error messages. The washcoat content of HJS ECE and EOBD cats is significantly higher and is characterised by a very high oxygen storage capacity, which means error messages can be avoided. The EOBD cats have been tested for this up to Euro 4. Durability and use up to the Euro 6 emissions standard are of course guaranteed. On Euro 5/6 vehicles, the points mentioned above can only be avoided if a cat with ECE approval is selected.
