The HG-Motorsport Pre Cat Eliminator (pre-cat replacement pipe) is a 100% direct replacement for the factory part. Perfect fit and high-quality materials make this item a top product in our range. By optimising the diameter, pipe routing and/or catalytic converter, the load on the turbocharger can be greatly reduced. The complex design naturally has a technical rationale and also its advantages, such as lower exhaust back pressure and therefore less heat build-up in the turbocharger. That is why, unlike other manufacturers, we have steered clear of a simple design with a tight pipe bend directly after the turbocharger outlet. Our flow analyses of this tight pipe bend showed that, despite the absence of a catalytic converter, this design produces higher back pressure than ours. Only casting made it possible to guarantee the absolute maximum flow and to avoid disruptive transitions along the inside of the downpipe. Lower back pressure and reduced thermal load produce a clear gain in torque, power and earlier response, while at the same time extending durability. Possible consequences include: invalidation of the operating licence, decommissioning of the vehicle, a complaint for tax evasion, and possible investigations by the environmental authority.
