ATTENTION! All catalytic converters/catalytic converter replacement pipes offered, except the EC-approved catalytic converter from HJS, are not permitted within the scope of road traffic regulations! Only with the EC catalytic converter may you legally drive your vehicle on public roads. The use of all other catalytic converters is intended for racing purposes only. If, despite our warning, you install a downpipe with a catalytic converter WITHOUT EC approval, you are liable to prosecution. Possible consequences include: loss of the operating licence, decommissioning of the vehicle, a report for tax evasion, as well as possible investigations by the environmental authority.

Catalytic converter information
When selecting a downpipe without a catalytic converter or with a 100/200-cell catalytic converter, an error message from the post-cat lambda sensor may appear in the control unit. This does not restrict driving, as the first lambda sensor is present for engine management. The post-cat sensor is only responsible for monitoring the catalytic converter's efficiency. This can be programmed out by a chip tuner by adapting the software.

On most vehicles up to the Euro 3 emissions standard there is no post-cat sensor, and installation is possible without further adaptation or error message.

The washcoat proportion in HJS ECE and EOBD catalytic converters is significantly higher and is characterised by a very high oxygen storage capacity, which means error messages can be avoided. The EOBD catalytic converters have been tested for this issue up to Euro 4. Durability and use up to the Euro 6 emissions standard are naturally ensured.
On Euro 5/6 vehicles, the above-mentioned points can only be avoided if a catalytic converter with an ECE approval is chosen.
